Both films are of equal importance to the DC Expanded Universe as “Batman vs. Superman: Dawn of Justice” introduces the heroes while “Suicide Squad” introduces the villains. Affleck will also make a cameo appearance in the anti-hero film.
If both films are successful in the box-office, then the line-up for the DC Expanded Universe is a sure go.
According to Warner Bros., with “Batman vs. Superman: Dawn of Justice” and “Suicide Squad” slated for this year, “Wonder Woman” and “Justice League: Part One” are already in post-production and will arrive on theaters by 2017.
Gal Gadot will reprise her role as Diana Prince’s alter-ego in the heroine’s first stand-alone film. While the roster of heroes will be starring in the first part of “Justice League.”
“The Flash,” which is currently on its second season on The CW, is set to have a movie version slated for a March 2018 release as well. Ezra Miller will portray the speedy superhero in the film adaptation.
“Aquaman” starring “Game of Thrones” alum Jason Momoa is set to hit theaters in July 2018. April 2019 will mark the premiere of “Shazam” starring Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson.
Warner Bros Pictures will close 2019 with the second part of “Justice League.” However, the DC Expanded Universe does not stop there.
Other DC films such as “Cyborg” starring Ray Fisher and “Green Lantern Corps” are set to be released by 2020.
