We’ve been seeing a lot of activity in the DC Universe of films, which started in 2013 with “Man of Steel” which generated a lot of discussion in communities of DC’s fans, and even though not all of those comments were positive, it was still a notable release. Now, things are about to get truly interesting with the upcoming release of “Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice” which is coming out next year in March, and fans have been wondering about how it’s going to tie in to “Suicide Squad”, a film being developed in a truly unique way that should generate a lot of attention for it.
“Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice” is rumored to be set two years after “Man of Steel”, although we haven’t seen an official confirmation of that yet. There has also been speculation that “Suicide Squad” is possibly set some time before the plot of “Batman v Superman”, but this is also something that we haven’t seen confirmed until now.
And this rumor wasn’t even that popular among fans until Umberto Gonzalez made a tweet claiming that “Suicide Squad” will be set somewhere between “Man of Steel” and “Batman v Superman”, instead of following the latter film like a sequel. So far, Gonzalez has been right on the spot for most rumors that he’s revealed, so there is a pretty good chance that this one is also true. We’ve also seen various additional bits of information which seem to add more credibility to that claim, so it’s looking more and more possible that this would be the actual timeline.
We saw some images showing Ben Affleck on the set of the film, and even though it was first believed that he was just there for the filming of a flashback, but then we also got additional rumors that claimed he was there to film a cameo for “Suicide Squad” too – but we have no idea whether that’s true or not.
It’s possible that we’ll see Ben Affleck showing up as Bruce Wayne only, as we’ve never actually seen him in the role of Batman himself. We could see some images showing him under a robe, which could be him trying to conceal the Batsuit, but on the other hand it could just be an attempt to hide Affleck himself in general.
There is an interesting piece of speculation claiming that Batman could be presented as an unknown figure roaming the streets of Gotham, and there’s also the possibility that the Suicide Squad has been made by Amanda Waller in order to chase after the dark figure.
