“Bates Motel” is one of the more unusual productions on TV right now, and the show managed to quickly build up a sizable following because of that. Even if the show did go through some ups and downs with its ratings, it still managed to come out on top most of the time. It looks like the producers are pulling all stops in terms of craziness and psychotic plots for this season, as Norman will spiral further down into his depraved state. We will see Norma come back in his hallucinations, as he will keep following his visions of “Mother” throughout the new season. We don’t know if that version of Norma will be the exact same character we knew from before, but it’s very likely that she will undergo some changes.
After all, there has always been a rift between the real Norma and Norman’s views of her, and his opinion will likely be the dominant factor in the way she appears in his visions. Because of this, fans aren’t sure what to expect from Norma’s character in season 5.
There are implications that the relationship between Norma and Norman will be explored more deeply, with some closer moments between the two characters. We are not sure how far the producers of the show are willing to go, and what kinds of lines they would cross for the shock factor, but it does seem like they are planning to really challenge their fans with the new season.
Responses to the announcement of the show’s intended cancellation after season 5 have been mixed.
