He eventually quits his job in rebellion over his adoption. So he and Jenna become friends with benefits. Jenna eventually ended the relationship to start getting romantically involved with Luke that also did not last.
The show was full of plotlines alright considering the sub-stories of the other characters which were quite interesting and enticing to follow too.
Near the end of the Season 4, it was shown that Jenna finally letting go of Matty again as she begins dating a friend of Adam who she also crossed paths with several times while she was in Mexico. Matty goes to the beach to get away from things but instead sees Jenna and her new date in the distance. The season wrapped up with Matty staring at Jenna in the distance on the beach while wondering whether he had lost his chance of true love.
That would be answered when “Awkward” returns to the MTV channel starting August 31 and most of the show’s fans can hardly wait for it.
