Awkward Season 5 Looks To End With A Graduation!

Television shows are all over the place these days and with most of them, it is very hard to get to the actual premiere without reading about what is coming up in the new season. That is even more the case when you are talking about the final season of a show. The trailers and other information that hits the web is something you have to sort through as most of it is teaser trailers and loyal fan speculations.

For the television show Awkward, that is going to be the same thing. The American teen comedy series that you can watch on MTV is going to start its fifth season on the 31st of August and, according to spoiler sites, it could bring the end of high school for the classmates. The show is centered around Jenna Hamilton, who is a teenager in California that is struggling with her identity. After an accident is misconstrued as an attempt to take her own life, things get a little more complicated.

The series premiered in 2011 and it did not take long for the network to renew it for a second season in August of that year. The show gained in popularity and after the second season premiered in June of 2012, it was only one month later when MTV renewed for a third season. Like many television shows sometimes a writer, producer or director ends up leaving and that is what happened with Awkward. Before the third season started, it was announced that the creator of the show was leaving after the season.

For the fourth season, MTV found a replacement for the creator of the show and the show continued with the fourth season premiering on April 15th, 2014. Critics loved the show and Awkward was seen in many “Top Ten” lists that were posted online. This month, the fifth season will air and it will also be the final season of the show. Since the television show takes place with the characters throughout high school, it only makes sense to end the show with a graduation.

During the senior year that is going to play out, fans of the show will get to see some things they might remember from their senior year. Milestones that are planned include pranks, prom and of course, graduation. This will all happen in the first half of the season, with the second season starting with a time jump, bringing fans to exactly one year later during the summer months. Fans can also expect to see some sex scenes and spoiler sites mention an interview that Ashley Rickards, who is the main character, in regards to them. She claimed that any time that a sex scene was being filmed she would get very gassy, but was not sure why.
