Days before the official worldwide showing of “Avengers: Age of Ultron” on May 1, Hollywood hunk Chris Evans, who plays Captain America in the movie, disclosed that the third “Avengers” movie will start filming in October this year.
The two-part third “Avengers” movie will be officially titled “Avengers: Infinity War Part I” and “Avengers: Infinity War Part 2. According to Chris Evans, shooting for the third movie will start as soon as he wraps up filming for the third “Captain America” movie officially titled “Captain America: Civil War.”
While “Avengers: Infinity War Part I” will hit worldwide theaters on May 4, 2018, and “Avengers: Infinity War Part II” on May 3, 2019, “Captain America: Civil War” will make its worldwide debut on the big screens on May 5, 2016, which makes it Marvel Studio’s next priority.
Back-to-back filming
Aside from the fact that filming for the next “Avengers” movies will start either in the last part of the quarter or early in the fourth quarter this year, Chris Evans also disclosed that shooting of both movies will be back to back and that he expects filming to be completed within nine months, cites Yahoo! Entertainment.
Apparently, “Avengers: Infinity War Part I” and “Avengers: Infinity War Part II” will be shot together.
But Evans admits that he still has no idea on who shall make up the cast of the next two “Avengers” movie although it would be most likely that all the Marvel superheroes in the first two films will be back along with a couple more including Spider-Man.
Early this month, Marvel Studios released the fourth and final trailer of “Avengers: Age of Ultron.” Compared to the previous trailers of the sequel to the “Avengers” film series which focuses more on the plot of the film and how villain Ultron came to be, the final 90-second teaser of the Joss Whedon-directed film is actually superheroes-centered.
The trailer highlighted the six main protagonists representing the Avengers including Iron Man, Captain America, Black Widow, Hulk, Thor and Hawkeye against the triumvirate of antagonists featuring Ultron, Scarlet Witch, and Quicksilver.
While the numbers favor the Avengers, Ultron has in his arsenal thousands of robots and electronic armies which he can command using his extreme artificial intelligence.
Evidently, the Avengers would require the support of other superheroes, which have earlier on been reported to have cameo roles in “Avengers: Age of Ultron” including Vision, to be played by Paul Bettany, and possibly, Doctor Strange, to be played by Benedict Cumberbatch.
Captain America’s antagonist
Meanwhile, Daniel Bruhl confirmed that he will be playing the villain Baron Helmut Zemo in “Captain America: Civil War.”
In addition to Evans and Bruhl, Robert Downey Jr. as Iron Man and Tony Stark will also form part of the movie’s cast that also include Anthony Mackie’s The Falcon, Scarlett Johansson’s Black Widow, Jeremy Renner’s Hawkeye, Elizabeth Olsen’s Scarlett Witch, Chadwick Boseman’s Black Panther, and Spider-Man.
