It was earlier confirmed that Weaver will be back for the sequel but not as her old character. Cameron confused fans by saying that nobody dies in a science fiction movie when asked about Dr. Grace.
This means that her death could be a false alarm and the process of transferring her to her avatar body did, in fact, happen.
It was also confirmed that the first film’s big bad, Col Miles Quaritch, played by Stephen Lang, is also heading back to the sequel and his return paints disaster all over Pandora.
The head of the mining operations’ security detail was assumed dead when Neytiri shot him with two massive arrows in the chest while he was threatening Jake’s life.
Unfortunately, it looks like Col. Quaritch has enough lives to last him a tetralogy. It has been confirmed that the 63-year-old actor will appear in the next three “Avatar” films as the primary antagonist.
Reports say that his body could’ve been retrieved by his troops and that he was given medical attention immediately.
The arrows that shot through his chest could’ve possibly caused massive destruction on his physical being and his return definitely marks his planned vengeance on Neytiri and Jake.
Cameron did not go into details of how they’re going to bring the fierce character back, but he did say that Quaritch will see some evolution in the next three films.
After nine years I hope Jake has at least a couple of young sons or daughter and son. The more defiant and arrogant the better. Jake Sully deserves the challenge.
Have these Na’Vi children love their parents, but make John Connor in T2: Judgment Day look like a sweet boy compared to Jake and Neytiri’s kids.
