He said back then that it is more likely that “Avatar 2” would be dealing with familial and imprisonment themes. He was also keen to disclose that the sequel can already stand on its own even without relating it to the first film.
It has been reported also that humans shall be returning on “Avatar 2” and shall be regarded by the Na’vi tribe as villains.
One of those humans who is likely to return with a vengeance is Col. Miles Quaritch, played by Stephen Lang, who, despite being killed by the Na’vis during the original film, shall reportedly come back but in another person or form most likely.
It was James Cameron who previously confirmed that Stephen Lang will be back in “Avatar 2” to reprise his role as Col. Quaritch.
When asked back then if how Cameron is going to do it since Quaritch is very much dead during the first movie, the director said that nobody dies in fiction.
He did not say exactly how it is going to happen but reports have it, which was also affirmed by Stephen Lang recently, that Col. Miles Quaritch is expected to be resurrected in unexpected places not only in “Avatar 2” but also in the three subsequent sequels up to “Avatar 5.”
