There were rumors that came out recently saying that lead stars for the movie “Avatar 2” Sam Worthington, who plays Jake Sully, and Zoe Saldana, who plays Neytiri, have been causing so much delay in the production of the film because they are reportedly getting flirty with each other on the set.
The reports are downright false and are blatant lies because “Avatar 2” has yet to begin filming. It has been previously confirmed that filming for the movie shall begin early next year and it will be non-stop from there since the production crew and the cast of characters will not just be filming “Avatar 2” but a total of four movies up to “Avatar 5.”
In addition to the ‘getting flirty on the set’ false rumors, there are also claims saying that Worthington and Saldana are possibly dating in real life, notes News Everyday.
However, there are also those who are saying that the flirting report is probably due to the fact that the rumored couple is going to film several love scenes in the movie.
But it is likely that the spillover rumors are inaccurate as well since filming has not started at all. So there is no flirting going on and no supposed love scenes yet too.
What seems confirmed at this point is the storyline of “Avatar 2” shall focus on Jake and Neytiri starting a family in the Na’vi tribe, which appears to be the jump off point for the rumors that spread around as of late.
Critically-acclaimed director James Cameron said that the sequel will be a family story but shall integrate the lead characters’ fight against the humans.
The director also revealed recently that the viewers shall be acquainted with the couple’s children in “Avatar 2” even as the world of Pandora is also explored to the hilt.
Cadence of release dates
The sequel to the most successful film of all time, “Avatar 2” was previously reported to come out in December 2017. However a few months ago, it was announced that the release date was pushed back to December 2018. Three films will follow thereafter with playdates of December 2020, December 2022, and December 2023.
The main reason back then for the push-back of “Avatar 2” from December 2017 to December 2018 is because James Cameron does not want the film to go head to head with “Star Wars Episode 8” which shall come out in theaters in December 2017.
However, there are now reports coming out saying that James Cameron has confirmed that December 2018 is just the target premiere date of “Avatar 2” and could still be moved if they needed to, details Game & Guide.
The director said that beyond the release dates, he is more concerned with the gap between all four sequel releases.
Cameron said that they have not moved the target release dates but he is willing to if they need to. He added that the important thing for him is not when the first one comes out but the cadence of the release pattern.
He explained that the four films should be released as close together as possible.
The “Avatar 2” director said that if it is going to be an annual appointment to show up at Christmas, he wants to make sure that they are able to fulfill that promise.
A Pandora-based story
In the myth, Pandora’s box is a mysterious portal which when opened unleashes the bad things in the universe.
But in the universe of the “Avatar” movie franchise, Pandora is a setting where the Na’vi tribe resides. It is the unexplored version of the earth so it is like the present universe transposed to its early days.
Cameron said that the upcoming sequel to the most successful movie of all time, “Avatar 2” shall have a Pandora-based story.
Immediately after the first film was released in 2009, James Cameron was already talking about what people could expect in its upcoming sequels.
