We expect that 2016 could be a bit uneventful as far as official information about “Avatar 2” comes, and if the film really is going to come out at the end of 2017, then it will probably be at least one year before information about it starts coming out more actively.
Until then, of course, we expect that there will be tons of rumors and people won’t stop talking about their expectations for “Avatar 2” and what the film could involve. Fans seem to have lots of specific ideas for the production and how they see its future, and it would be interesting to see if any of them turn out to be true.
It’s also pretty much guaranteed that Cameron is paying attention to those discussions and speculation and he may even get some inspiration from it all, so it might not be surprising if some of those ideas end up getting into the main production.
Of course, in that case we probably wouldn’t expect the director to specifically admit where the ideas came from, although he would most likely at least acknowledge that he is constantly paying attention to his community and what fans are saying about his work. We will see how things turn out in about a year in any case.
