Because, in order to make “Avatar 2” truly good, James Cameron will need to take some risks, and that means potentially messing up the film and releasing something that will disappoint his fans. The director has shown time and time again that he knows how to do work that pleases his audience, but nobody is guaranteed that they won’t mess up at some point in their career.
Because of this, fans have been cautiously optimistic for “Avatar 2” and the films coming after it. There will likely be a lot to talk about in that production, but hopefully we will have good things to say.
There is still a long time before we get a chance to discuss “Avatar 2” though, as the film won’t be out for quite a while. James Cameron will probably keep his fans up to date when he has something more concrete to show.
The director doesn’t like to be secretive about his work for too long, but on the other hand he’s not a fan of prematurely releasing information either. When he does have something good to tell his fans, we’re going to hear it very quickly, but until then we’re going to have to go on rumors, and there are lots of those around.
