If you are not aware of Attack on Titan, do not feel bad. It is a Japanese anime series that has been on television since 2009 and has been going on for eighteen volumes as of last month. The show features a world were the citizens are kept in cities surrounded by huge walls, which are reportedly to keep the titans out. Titans are described online as gigantic human like creatures that eat humans for no reason at all, which is a perfect reason to build a giant wall.
The show is quite popular with manga series lovers and those that appreciate anime from Japan, which is why it was renewed for a second season last year. As of July of last year, Attack on Titan was labeled a “major” success with more than fifty-two million copies in print, including fifty million in Japan alone. The story and overall atmosphere has been given positive reviews by critics and that has fans waiting patiently for the second season.
Just like any show that has hit the television waves, Attack on Titan has brought controversial topics along with it. Even though the popularity has been slowly moving into neighboring countries, those topics have been discussion for not showing the series. For Attack on Titan season 2, there is plenty of speculation, news and rumors posted online already, about one month before it is set to premiere. Loyal fans will notice the second season is coming two years after the first.
In most cases, a new season of a television show comes right after the older one ends, but according to reports, the gap in the series has a good reason. Sources online are reporting that the reason for the gap is due to an agreement between Araki and the writer of Attack on Titan, Hajime Isayama. That agreement states that the manga adaption run “four arcs ahead of the anime” version. This ensures that there is no overlap and that there is no departure from the original plot line and this makes sense to fans.
The spoilers that have been posted online show the return of the Armoured Titan and Colossal Titan. Reports are indicating that new Titans will be featured in the upcoming season. Eren Yeager is apparently real close to becoming Titan food as Kevin Ackerman tries to eat him to gain the Coordinate’s power. His life is spared when they realize that there are only so many that can have that specific power. Just because Eren gets lucky, does not mean that Levi will. Levi is clearly the strongest fighter of the season, but things change during the upcoming season. As fans can figure out, Levi will reportedly die in the second season.
