Some fans of “Attack on Titan” have been drawing comparisons to that situation and advising the producers of the show to take up an approach similar to what we saw with “Game of Thrones”. The producers of the latter show met up with George R. R. Martin at least once to discuss his plans for future developments in the plot.
That way, they were able to continue their own work without pressuring the author any further, and some fans of “Attack on Titan” apparently see this is a solution to their own show’s problems.
But the connection between the show and the manga series works a bit more differently here and we probably can’t expect a similar resolution. With that in mind, fans will just have to be patient and wait for the next release to roll around.
The official release date of the show hasn’t been announced, but many fans are hopeful that we’re still going to see it by the end of this year. Season 2 was originally planned for the beginning of 2016, but even if that deadline isn’t met there is still plenty of time to go during the year. If not for the official announcement/release, then at least for lots of teasers to keep fans happy and occupied with discussions on messaging boards.
