Athletic Look and Superb Performance Makes the 2015 Ford Escape a Winning Compact Crossover, And More

The Ford Escape has metamorphosed from a typical crossover vehicle when it was ushered in 2000 to its bolder and more exciting appearance that it is today with its 2015 model.

The 2015 Ford Escape now features an athletic look which goes well with its superb road performance as well as roomy interiors that make up for a winning crossover vehicle that is a cut above its class.

Exuding stylings to highlight its aerodynamics punctuated by character lines that give it the sporty appeal, the 2015 Ford Escape has maintained its tradition of excellent fuel economy, which is also one of the best in its class.

The 2015 Ford Escape comes in three different models, the S, the SE and the Titanium and three different engines too.

Despite being powered by different engines, the Ford Escape variants have practically the same fuel efficiency ratings under the new five-cycle testing methods. It consumes a little over 10 liters of fuel for every 100 kilometers for city driving and just a tad below eight liters per 100 kilometers for highway driving.

The S model comes with the 2.5-liter I-4 engine, the SE comes with the 1.6-liter EcoBoost engine, while the Titanium has the option to use the 2.0-liter EcoBoost I-4 engine.

The beginning

The Ford Escape was an offshoot of the Mazda and Ford working collaboration in the late 90s. The collaboration also resulted to the release of the Mazda Tribute in 2000, which was quite identical to the Ford Escape since they were manufactured using the same platform.

Mazda and Ford have since parted ways but the Ford Escape tradition continued and with the new sporty look of the 2015 model, it appears that the compact crossover will be around for a long time.

The latest 2015 Ford Escape model also has EcoBoost engine features that were not part of the technological sharing previously between Ford and Mazda. Such engine feature makes the compact crossover an environment-friendly vehicle while being consistently fuel efficient too.

In addition, the crossover also uses smart eco-conscious technologies to ensure that any of its features do not have a negative impact on the environment.

Why it’s a cut above the rest

Typical with most Ford vehicles, the 2015 Ford Escape is a front-wheel drive with standard six-speed automatic transmission.

The materials used in the interiors of the 2015 Ford Escape were all from recyclable items including scrap cotton, T-shirts among other items for its carpeting and polyester fiber upholstery. The crossover is not just environmentally-friendly under the hood, it is also earth-friendly from within.

The SE and the Titanium models of the 2015 Ford Escape also comes with panoramic Vista Roof which is basically a large forward panel that tilts up or opens fully and offers a fixed rear skylight, allowing passengers a view of the world above.
