Ubisoft’s upcoming game “Assassin’s Creed Victory,” set to be release on the Xbox One, the PlayStation 4, and the PC later this year, will have the Victorian Era of England as its main setting.
Crossmap alludes that the word ‘Victory’ on the title of the video game may have something to do with the Victorian Era setting.
“Assassin’s Creed Victory” lead writer Darby McDevitt said that Ubisoft writers have created 500, 600, 700 years worth of history so that they can start teasing it out for the next 10, 20 years, or however long they will be around.
He added that he has been working over the last two years with all the other Ubisoft writers and they all have pieced together voluminous documents on the First Civilization.
Historical fiction
“Assassin’s Creed Victory” is the ninth game in the historical fiction action-adventure open world stealth video game series that follows the successful launch of “Assassin’s Creed Unity” and “Assassin’s Creed Rogue in November last year.
When Ubisoft launched “Assassin’s Creed Unity” in November, it had numerous bugs and glitches that it was actually met by criticisms from fans and gamers that prompted the Canadian-based game developer to release patches containing fixes.
The developer kept mum on its latest video game “Assassin’s Creed Victory” so much so that when a seven-minute gameplay footage of the game was leaked to the internet recently, fans and gamers got dismayed with Ubisoft for keeping them in the dark as regards the future plans for the game.
Not for public consumption
Ubisoft subsequently issued a statement to state that the gameplay footage leaked to the internet was not for public consumption.
It said that it was unfortunate that internal assets of the company were leaked because the development team was working very hard on the title for the past few years. Ubisoft said that it was planning to unveil the game at a later date and make the announcement official to fans and gamers but unfortunately the leakage beat them to the draw.
However, now that the word is out on “Assassin’s Creed Victory,” Ubisoft said that it will still continue working on finetuning the game to ensure that it would be able to enhance the experience of players who have made the “Assassin’s Creed” series part of their video gaming fare.
“Assassin’s Creed Victory” will be the only video game that will be officially released by Ubisoft this year, not counting of course the delayed release of “Assassin’s Creed Rogue” on the PC in Europe and Asia which only rolled out last month.
While Ubisoft already admitted to the leaked gameplay footage, it has yet to release an official statement to specify the exact release date for the “Assassin’s Creed Victory” on the next gen gaming consoles and the PC towards the latter part of this year. But it is likely that November 2015 would be its ideal release date to take advantage of the Holiday shopping spree.
The game is expected to be formally launched by Ubisoft in the upcoming Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) to be held on June 16 to 18 at the Los Angeles Convention Center.
