Assassin’s Creed: Victory Rumored Coming in December 2015, to Introduce New Protagonist and Setting!

A lot is planned for the next installment in the “Assassin’s Creed” franchise, and even though Ubisoft were hoping to surprise their fans with the announcement, that didn’t go according to plan, as the game got leaked to the public. A lot of information about it was revealed in the leak, including a brand new Victorian-era setting, which immediately got the attention of fans.

Instead of leaving their fans to speculate about the leak though, Ubisoft decided to be very forward and open about the situation, immediately admitting that the leak was genuine and that the Victorian setting was indeed what they were planning. However, the studio also admitted that the leak was disappointing to them, as they had different plans for the announcement of the game.

The protagonist of the new title will apparently receive special attention in the development, and it’s been reported that Ubisoft want to explore a slightly different direction for the game’s main character. If the rumors are true, the new assassin will be a lot more brutal and cunning. This might be a response to one common criticism about the game – that it often encourages a violent approach, but this clashes with the presented personality of the protagonist. If the new assassin is indeed more ruthless and battle-minded, this could have an interesting effect on the game.

Currently, it’s rumored that Ubisoft are preparing for a launch before the end of 2015, likely sometime in the last quarter. This could coincide with other rumors claiming that the studio is gearing up for an exciting major release this year, although they themselves have been rather vague and cryptic about the current state of the game’s development.

In any case, if Ubisoft really are gearing up for a 2015 release for the next “Assassin’s Creed”, we should get more information about the game at this year’s E3. Many companies are expected to make an appearance at the event and reveal various exciting projects of their own, so it makes sense that Ubisoft will also be there if they are going to launch the game a few months afterwards.

What could they show at E3 exactly? Other than going into more detail about the games plot and setting, they could also possibly show a preview of its gameplay. There have been lots of talks about some rumored major gameplay changes coming in the pipeline, so it would be very exciting to see what the studio is planning. If the most prominent rumors are true, the game is going to take a much more brutal approach with its gameplay, more focused on direct combat and cinematic sequences. This certainly sounds like something that would fit the style of the franchise, so it’s entirely plausible, and might even be a positive change for the franchise, according to many of its fans.
