‘Assassin’s Creed Syndicate’ to Feature More Brutal Assassination Skills of Lead Characters

An hour-long gameplay demo of the upcoming action-adventure video game “Assassin’s Creed Syndicate” was posted on YouTube on July 16 to provide a preview of how the game would look like on its actual release on the Xbox One and PlayStation 4 on October 23.

An exclusive video containing the play-through of the E3 demo was released to the public via YouTube by gaming enthusiast ‘assassincreedUK’ that enabled video game fans to get a closer look at “Assassin’s Creed Syndicate.”

However, there were a lot of mistakes on how the presenter showed the game since the latest iteration of the series has a complex control scheme. In addition, the gameplay demo is from the early alpha build of the game that is why it is a little buggy or full of bugs, according to Eurogamer. There were some glitches in the voices in the opening cutscenes and there are still some things unclear in the demo like how the enemy Al was not able to notice the falling crate.

Ubisoft’s goal for the game

Although the video game series “Assassin’s Creed” have always been popular in the gaming community, it seems the publisher of the game Ubisoft, is aiming to make the latest franchise one of the best games of the series.

In the latest game of the franchise, it seems that the lead characters, Evie and Jacob Frye, will take charge. They will become organized assassins who will fight the injustices caused by dirty businessmen and corrupt politicians during the late 1800s. Thus, the “Assassin’s Creed Syndicate” is more of a Victorian-era rebellion and less of an order.

Ubisoft even hired big names for the “Assassin’s Creed Syndicate” animated spin-offs. Pop Mhan, the “He-Man and the Masters of the Universe” comic book artist, provided the animation for the short film of the game while director F. Gary Gray directed the short animated film, according to VG24/7.

However, this is not the first for the publisher to do so. During “Assassin’s Creed Unity,” the previous game of the series, “Fear Agent” and “Walking Dead” comic book artist Tony Moore was also hired to do the animation while Rob Zombie, the rock-and-roll legend, directed the animation for the short film.

Nevertheless, this is the first time for the “Assassin’s Creed” series to feature a game where players can switch between two protagonists in real-time. In addition, the assassination skills of the characters will become more brutal while doing their respective missions.

Confirmed game features

Meanwhile, Ubisoft somehow confirmed some of the features of “Assassin’s Creed Syndicate” with the release of the lengthy gameplay demo on YouTube.

Although it has been mentioned that the characters of the latest franchise would become more brutal with regards to their assassination skills, Jacob and Evie displayed different capabilities in “Assassin’s Creed Syndicate.”

According to What Culture, Jacob’s combat style was more obvious compared to his twin. He was shown in the demo chasing carriages in the streets of London, engaging in fistfights and gang wars. On the other hand, Evie was more strategic and discreet. Her strength was in the use of long-range and distance weaponry.

Most of the games in the “Assassin’s Creed” series featured the British Empire, but for “Syndicate,” the players will experience the life of the under-class with respect to finance and industry including imperialism. In addition, the game’s creative director, Marc-Alexis Cote, stated in a recent interview that they will leave the medieval era behind and will move on to the Victorian era, according to What Culture.

Moreover, the latest franchise of the series will feature historical figures like Charles Dickens and Charles Darwin. Although, the two well-known individuals were already confirmed to appear, other figures are expected to make an appearance like Karl Marx and John Stuart Mill since their characters are also in line with the assassins’ beliefs.
