Ashton Kutcher and Mila Kunis Take The Daily Mail to UK Court for Intruding into Family Privacy

Celebrity couple Ashton Kutcher and Mila Kunis have taken the online edition of the British tabloid The Daily Mail to a UK court for intruding into the privacy of their family.

Paul Tweed, the legal representative of Kutcher and Kunis, filed the case on July 27 at the London High Court against the website publisher, Associated Newspapers, for two articles that appeared on the site featuring their nine-month-old daughter Wyatt Isabelle.

The suit stems from an allegation of wrongful publication of paparazzi photographs of family outings as well as making use of photos of their daughter to promote clothing products by the Mail Online, notes The Hollywood Reporter.

Tweed said in a statement that Ashton and Mila understandably value their private and family life, particularly their personal time with their daughter. The lawyer added that like any other family, the couple should be allowed to enjoy family outings without being pursued by paparazzi or photographers.

Values family privacy

Ashton and Mila have previously made it clear that they do not agree to the publication of photographs of their private family moments.

The lawsuit alleges misuse of private information and breaches of the Data Protection Act. The online edition of The Daily Mail routinely posts paparazzi shots of famous and not-so-famous people accompanied by fashion boxouts inviting their readers to purchase items of clothing similar or identical to those worn by celebrities. Two pieces about Kutcher and Kunis remain visible online, from June and July, details The Guardian.

The suit against The Daily Mail is not the first time that the publication and its website have courted the ire of Hollywood. In July last year, Hollywood actor George Clooney called The Daily Mail as the worst kind of tabloid after it ran a story on the mother of his wife Amal Alamuddin.

Angelina Jolie is also set to file the necessary legal action against the online edition of The Daily Mail for posting a video allegedly showing the actress under the influence of heroin.

Fourth of July wedding

On July 4, Ashton and Mila legally tied the knot in private ceremonies at the Secret Garden at Parrish Ranch in Oak Glen, California.

The event was one of the biggest secret weddings in showbiz as it was only attended by a select number of relatives, friends and guests of the couple.

Apart from being extremely private, secluded and beautiful, the venue seems to be like a distant place from Los Angeles. The couple also wanted to keep the wedding ceremonies secret, but they were not able to keep it for long, though.

While the wedding came out to many of their fans as sort of happy surprise, there were reports that came out that Mila Kunis and Ashton Kutcher were already legally married even before the July 4 matrimonial rites.

It would appear that the wedding was just the formality because as early as last year, around the time after the birth of their baby daughter Wyatt Isabelle, there have already been reports that Ashton and Mila have secretly married.

The Mirror actually came out with a report that even before the couple’s Fourth of July marriage, Mila was already referring to Ashton as her husband in previous interviews.

The outlet actually counted the number of times that Mila referred to Ashton as her husband to be three times during her interview with the Telegraph, thus lending credence to the reports that they were already married even before July 4.

Those three times in the interview included the moment when she said that she and her husband always backpack through Europe. She also said that she is a democrat and her husband is a democrat. She also talked about dressing up for Halloween and she said that she went as a big and her husband also went as a pig.
