Arrow Season 5 to See the Green Arrow Protect the Star City People Solo in the Premiere Episode After Team Arrow Decimation in Season 4 Finale

Team Arrow was reduced to a duo just like old times during the Season 4 finale of the American superhero drama TV series “Arrow” on The CW with Oliver Queen, played by Stephen Amell, doing the dirty work outside, and his ex-wife Felicity Smoak, played by Emily Bett Rickards, manning the bunker and providing technical support.

It can be recalled that during the Season 4 final episode, Diggle, played by David Ramsey, and Thea Queen, played by Willa Holland, decided to leave Team Arrow, following the demise of Laurel Lance, played by Katie Cassidy, a few episodes back, in the hands of Damien Darhk, played by Neal McDonough.

Based on the synopsis of the premiere episode of Season 5 of “Arrow” to air on October 5, Oliver Queen as the Green Arrow will take to the streets solo to protect the citizens of Star City.

With Felicity guiding him from the bunker, Oliver is forced to deal with a city that has become overrun with both criminals and a slew of new and inexperienced vigilantes, details Comingsoon, net.

Oliver shall also need to balance his jobs as both the Star City mayor and the protector of his beloved city, which prompts Felicity to form a new team.

While Oliver was hesitant at first, he finally saw the merit in Felicity’s suggestion when a deadly new criminal, Tobias Church, played by Chad L. Coleman, sweeps into town. So that’s when he started looking for possible new members to the all-new Team Arrow which would be the focal point of the initial episodes of Season 5 of “Arrow.”

What fans should expect

In addition to the official trailer for the first episode of Season 5 of “Arrow,” The CW has also released several posters of the TV series which added to the excitement of the show.

One of the posters that have been drawing rave reviews is that of Wild Dog, who looks exactly like his comic book version. This, despite having a ridiculous character design, notes the Den of Geek.

The first episode is titled “Legacy” which is based on a story by Greg Berlanti, a script by Marc Guggenheim and Wendy Mericle, and directed by James Barnford, who happens to be the stunt coordinator on “Arrow.” Barnford actually helped give the show its action-identity.

The new recruits of Team Arrow will come in on the second episode aptly titled as “The Recruits” and it would feature Curtis, played by Echo Kellum, Wild Dog, played by Rick Gonzalez, and Evelyn Sharp, played by Madison McLaughlin.

However, the recruits will find the Green Arrow’s training methods too much to handle which would send a few of them to air their gripes in the process.

Going back to real criminal underworld

In a recent interview, Wendy Mericle confirmed that Season 5 of “Arrow” shall see the TV series going back to the real criminal underworld of Star City.

She said that the show would be dealing with a lot of gangs and mobs that are out there. In addition to the Bratva, there is going to be the Triad, the Los Halcones, and the Bertinelli family as well.

Mericle said that “Arrow” Season 5 will be a little more real because that is what is happening in the world’s cities with all those violence in the streets.

In a previous interview, Stephen Amell also revealed that the upcoming Season 5 of the show shall have more action as it returns to its roots.

Amell’s statement was a reaction to observations by some critics that while the first two seasons of “Arrow” was right on target, the TV series seems to have slowed down during its last two seasons comparing it to a ship that has run aground.

The CW has released a new promo teaser for “Arrow” Season 5 and it contained some confounding elements including the erection of a statue for Laurel Lance, previously played by Katie Cassidy.
