The Green Arrow is going to be meaner but not evil in the upcoming Season 5 of the American superhero drama TV series “Arrow” when it returns on The CW on October 5.
In his recent posts and live streaming with fans on the Facebook page of “Arrow,” actor Stephen Amell, who plays Oliver Queen a.k.a. the Green Arrow in the TV series, said that he had read the first script for Season 5 and he told fans of the popular show that they would be in for quite a real treat, notes BuddyTV.
He said that if the premiere episode is any indication, “Arrow,” the series, and “Green Arrow,” the vigilante, is going to be both mean in the upcoming Season 5.
Amell said that the premiere episode will give the opportunity for the show to have the most vicious , violent one-shot in the history of network television.
He added that it is a pretty big thing to drop, and hopefully “Arrow” can follow through with one of the most epic fight scenes that fans have ever seen. He did not, however, disclose who are going to be involved in the fight.
Modified costume
The actor also disclosed that the Green Arrow shall have a slightly modified version of his costume for the upcoming Season 5. The suit got a slightly different look during Season 4.
Amell also hinted at the return of an old character when he said that the character has not been seen for two full seasons. Fans have speculated that it could be Slade but Slade has appeared in the middle of Season 3 so he was not out of the show for a full two Seasons.
Aside from a returning character, a new member of the cast shall be coming on board and it is going to be Tyler Ritter of “The McCarthys” and he shall be playing the role of Detective Malone, the newest police officer of Star City Police Department.
Detective Malone would be a major recurring role in Season 5 and he shall be filling the void left by Captain Lance, played by Paul Blackthorne, who was forced off the force.
Ritter is the son of the late comedian, John Ritter. He is best known for his starring role on “The McCarthys” on CBS which was canceled by the network after airing only 11 episodes, notes the Screen Rant.
Looking at the reunion of Olicity
Shippers of ‘Olicity’ were disappointed that Oliver Queen and Felicity Smoak, played by Emily Bett Rickards, parted ways past the mid-point of Season 4 “Arrow.”
Felicity decided to split with Oliver after discovering that Oliver kept something from her, particularly his son by another woman.
Fans were actually expecting that the pair would get back together again during or before the Season 4 finale but that did not happen.
It seems however that the reunion of Oliver and Felicity would happen in Season 5 based on the recent hint of actor Stephen Amell.
In a recent interview, Amell said that he still does not know what is going to happen in the TV series when it returns to the small screen in the fall of this year for its Season 5, but he really thinks and believes that Oliver and Felicity will begin the Season 5 together.
Amell said that he really felt that Felicity was relatively quick to walk away from the relationship with Oliver but she is a fictional character so she can do what she wants.
The “Arrow” star also confirmed during the interview that a new villain shall be introduced in Season 5 of “Arrow,” who would be loosely inspired by the drug kingpin Stringer Bell role played by Idris Elba on “The Wire.”
The villain has the name of Anton Church and is described as a ruthless crime lord who will be filling the void left by the defeated Damien Darhk, played by Neal McDonough, during the Season 4 finale.
