As every fan of the TV series knows, Oliver Queen, a.k.a the Green Arrow, is very much like Bruce Wayne, a.k.a. Batman. He does not have supernatural or superhero powers and much of his mysticism, just like the Dark Knight, is because he has the money to use technology to his advantage and develop weapons for use in crime-fighting.
The Green Arrow is not like The Flash or Superman or other superheroes, who have been gifted with special powers, which is also the reason why they often go up against villains who possess special powers as well.
The first two seasons of “Arrow” saw Oliver Queen, played by actor Stephen Amell, dealing with human villains, who do not have superpowers. For some reason, since the third season of “Arrow,” Team Arrow has been fighting against villains with superpowers including Ra’s Al Ghul in the third season and Damien Darhk in the recently-concluded fourth season.
What takes the cake of criticisms on “Arrow” was during the Season 4 finale where Team Arrow defeated the magic-wielding villain whose powers increased exponentially after sacrificing tens of thousands of people by a combination of good will and fisticuffs.
Apparently, the showrunners have taken note of the criticisms, some of them harsh, which is why they shall no longer be doing the same mistake in Season 5 of “Arrow.”
