While there is actually a Prometheus in the DC Comics mythology, “Arrow” executive producer Marc Guggenheim has assured fans that the sword-wielding archer isn’t that character.
However, the shocking twist in episode 7 of “Arrow” may actually point towards Prometheus’ true identity. And the man under the hood may actually be, Sportsmaster.
In the comics, Sportsmaster has no problem using his sports skills to commit crimes. Much like Prometheus, he has perfected his craft and can be very deadly when necessary. But the reason why Sportsmaster may actually be Prometheus is down to the fact that Sportsmaster’s real name is actually Lawrence Crock, Artemis’s father.
But “Arrow” is renowned for changing things up a little, and fans were already told that Evelyn Sharp’s parents died in the explosion at Damien Darhk’s hideout.
But it should be remembered that Prometheus would be someone from Oliver’s past who has come back to haunt him. So there is a chance that it could be Evelyn’s father too.
While fans were all suspicious of Evelyn last season when she almost inadvertently destroyed the Black Canary’s legacy, they have quickly become very fond of her thanks to her heroic role as Artemis in the current fifth season.
