Arrow Season 5 Episode 8 to Make History as the TV Series’ 100th Episode and Also as a Crossover Episode of Four Superhero Shows on The CW

The eighth episode of Season 5 of the American supernatural TV series “Arrow” on The CW is bound to make history when it airs on November 30.

First, it will be the show’s 100th episode and second, it will also be part of a crossover episode involving four shows on The CW based on DC Comics.

In the past four seasons, “Arrow” normally has a crossover episode with its spin-off series “The Flash.” And for the first time in five years, “Arrow” will share the same plotline with the DC TV verse involving “The Flash,” “Supergirl,” and “Legends of Tomorrow.”

This means that characters from each TV show will be crossing over to the same “Invasion” plotline all across the four shows and it is certainly a magnificent TV spectacle for fans and viewers and most especially, the fanatics of DC Comics.

An alternate timeline

It seems like the upcoming eighth episode of “Arrow” will be adopting the main plotline of “The Flash” Season 3 called as the Flashpoint.

Apparently, in the next episode, entitled “Invasion,” Oliver Queen, played by Stephen Amell, will wake up in an alternate timeline where the Queen’s Gambit, their family yacht, never sank so the characters from Season 1 will be back including his parents Robert and Moira Queen and his girlfriend Laurel Lance, details iDigital Times.

In a recent interview, Stephen Amell said that the upcoming episode is a very therapeutic moment for his character because Oliver gets to say goodbye to people he never got the chance to say goodbye to.

In particular, Amell may be referring to Laurel Lance, played by Katie Cassidy, because back in Season 4, just before she died, she said that Oliver will always be the love of her life. Her death has made Oliver think twice about his legacy.

He has chosen to uphold Black Canary’s morals as a vigilante, vowing to fight in the name of justice, not revenge.

Based on photos for the upcoming 100th episode of “Arrow,” it showed a glimpse of what could have been when he wakes in an alternate reality to his soon-to-be wife, Laurel.

Oliver is also expected to get a closure with his father Robert. A lot has happened since Robert Queen shot himself in the head on the raft to save Oliver’s life.

In fact, the whole first season of “Arrow,” was devoted to Robert Queen’s list of corrupt people in Starling City, which later on became Star City. But Oliver never had the chance to actually talk to his father about it. After spending the last five years protecting Star City in his father’s name, things could get emotional when the two come face to face.

While Oliver is in his alternate reality, Felicity Smoak, played by Emily Bett Rickards, and the recruits of Team Arrow will take on a new threat with the help from The Flash, played by Grant Gustin, and Supergirl, played by Melissa Benoit.

One of the show’s strongest episodes thus far

Moviepilot has recently stated that the episode 7 of “Arrow” Season 5 that aired on November 16 is one of the show’s strongest thus far.

In addition to getting a handful on the violent and vengeful Vigilante, it also featured Olive Queen squaring off against Dolph Lundgren’s character in the flashbacks.

But the biggest twist of the episode was the jaw dropper when it was shown towards the end that Artemis is working with Prometheus. Nobody saw it coming really and that includes the most ardent and keen viewers of “Arrow.”

Evelyn Sharp’s allegiance with Prometheus is something that could end up having a great deal of influence on the show moving forward.
