Team Arrow will have a new headquarters when Season 4 of the American superhero TV series “Arrow” officially returns to The CW on October 7.
During the Season 3 finale of the popular TV series, the Arrow was pretty much destroyed. Producers of the show have given fans a glimpse of the new headquarters which shall be called the ‘Arrow Bunker,’ notes Three If By Space or TIBS.
The headquarters look very sleek and many believe that it has everything that a superhero team needs. It also appears to have been designed as a compartmentalized bunker, with specific areas for suit storage, hacker central, team meetings, and just about any other thing that a band of superhero needs to go around their business of fighting bad guys and saving people from their claws.
“Arrow” showrunner Marc Guggenheim said that they had to design the new lair bigger because Olver Queen’s Team Arrow is already growing bigger despite the departure of several of its members and move on to their respective spin-off series, including “The Flash” and “The Atom.”
Oliver Queen, alias Arrow, is being played in the series by Stephen Amell. There are reports that when he returns to Season 4, he will no longer just be called as Arrow but Green Arrow.
Guggenheim said that one of the things he finds interesting about the ‘Arrow Bunker’ is that it’s a much larger space but divided into smaller spaces.
The showrunner said the new headquarters will have an area for Felicity, played by Emily Bett Rickards, to work, an area for Oliver to do his daily physical regimen, and also a garage. In addition, the bunker will still have different places that viewers would get to know of during the course of Season 4.
There is still no news or information where the new ‘Arrow Bunker’ is to be located or who the architect of the new bunker is but it certainly give fans a new reason to be excited about for the upcoming season of “Arrow.”
Happy and in love
It has been reported that after going through a dark phase in Season 3, there will be a big shift in Oliver Queen’s character for Season 4.
Executive producer Wendy Mericle actually disclosed it during a recent interview where she said that Season 4 will not be a reboot of the series but shall only reintroduce a new Oliver Queen. She said that the protagonist will be in a completely different place in Season 4 because he is happy and in love with Felicity.
However, Mericle added that like any other romance, it won’t be perfect and their relationship will have many challenges along the way. But it is going to be fun to see Oliver and Felicity, which fans refer to as Olicity, maintain their relationship through the ups and downs that come its way.
The executive producer said that regular fans of the show should not be worried at all because it is going to be a bumpy ride. But she did not disclose whether the couple will be able to weather the storm but may have hinted that they will when she said that it is going to be both fun and exciting.
New name to go with the new costume
Meanwhile, Comicbook.com reported that Diggle of Team Arrow will have his own special codename to go with his new superhero costume.
Diggle will reportedly get a Cisco Ramon-approved name for Team Arrow. And this was confirmed by Wendy Mericle during the recent Television Critics Association press tour when she bared that there will be big developments in store for Green Arrow’s most trusted ally for the show’s Season 4.
She added that she can’t disclose the codename for Diggle just yet, but she assured fans that it is going to be fun and cool. Mericle also revealed that Diggle will begin to embrace the dual identity conundrum that Oliver Queen has been dealing with over the last three years.
