“Arrow” has two storylines, one in the present and one in the past. The present storyline follows the adventures of Arrow in his fight against various villains. For example, Season 3 introduced the villain called Ra’s Al Ghul, played by actor Matt Nable. The second storyline involves Arrow’s flashbacks to the period where he was stranded on an island. The flashbacks serve as an indicator of how the character became transformed upon his return to Starling City.
The series had earned 3.68 million viewers through the first season and has had several nominations for various awards. These include winning awards for Best Cinematography in TV Drama, Best Visual Effects in a Dramatic Series and Favorite Sci-Fi / Fantasy Show. The premiere episode generated a total of 4.14 million viewers, making the series most watched The CW’s series, ever since “The Vampire Diaries” aired in 2009.
DC Comics’ Green Arrow appeared in 1941. In the beginning, the character was not very popular outside comic books. The character of Arrow was later played by actor Justin Harley in the series “Smallville” which lasted from 2006 to 2011.
However, Oliver Queen in “Arrow” differs from its characterization in “Smallville.” The directors still kept the main humanity theme in “Arrow” as they did in “Smallville,” but the show is not primarily focused on battles between superhuman characters.
