The character is to be played by Megalyn Echikunwoke, who is also lending her voice to the character on the animated series
“Vixen” Season 1 shall have six episodes. It follows the titular superhero who has the ability to mimic the powers of any animal using a totem imbued with magical powers passed down through her family.
Incidentally, the jump of Vixen on “Arrow” is very easy because Marc Guggenheim is the executive producer of both “Arrow” and “Vixen.”
In a recent interview, Guggenheim was quoted as saying that the producers are not only thrilled to further expand the DC TV universe by bringing in the live-action incarnation of Vixen on “Arrow,” they are also immensely excited that Megalyn Echikunwoke will be revisiting her role as Mari McCabe.
But it is unclear how many episodes will Vixen appear in “Arrow” in Season 4. It could be a one-off appearance like Matt Ryan’s John Constantine during episode 5 or Marc Guggenheim can ultimately decide to give her a longer and more developed story arc in the popular TV series.
It also remains to be seen how “Arrow” will handle Vixen’s powers in live-action since the effect of the animal the character is mimicking may not translate effectively from animation.
