Fans of the American superhero TV series “Arrow” have gotten new reasons to be excited for the upcoming premiere of Season 4 on The CW on October 7 as the network released new still photos showing mostly members of Team Arrow and Damien Darhk, played by Neal McDonough.
The premiere episode is titled “Green Arrow” which obviously signifies the transformation of Oliver Queen, played by Stephen Amell, from being the Arrow to Green Arrow, complete with his new costume and a new attitude too.
It can be recalled that during the Season 3 finale, Oliver decided to ride off to the sunset with his girlfriend Felicity Smoak as they left Starling City with the hopes of starting a new beginning, notes Comicbook.com
However, crime-fighting has become part of his nature and Oliver Queen simply cannot leave his past behind as the Arrow, especially with his Team Arrow still around, which he also worked hard for to assemble all those years.
While the Season 3 finale premise would leave fans to think that Diggle, Thea and Laurel would be left to fend for their own and continue the noble crusade started by Oliver Queen, the title of the premiere episode of Season 4 strongly indicates that Oliver and Felicity will return to answer their calling. Only this time, Oliver will become the Green Arrow.
Villains in the horizon
In addition to facing new villain Damien Darhk in the newly-named Star City, from previously being Starling City, the Green Arrow will also be up against Malcolm Merlyn after ascending to the top of the League of Assassins as the new Ra’s al Ghul, cites Entertainment Weekly.
With less than three weeks to go before the return to the small screen of “Arrow,” the new still photos are the right thirst-quencher that fans need to keep their excitement on the TV series in check.
However, the new round of teases also fuelled further their anticipation and anxiousness for the return of the popular show on The CW.
New headquarters
Last month, The CW also teased that Team Arrow will have a new headquarters in Season 4 of “Arrow.”
During the Season 3 finale of the popular TV series, the Arrow headquarters was pretty much destroyed. Producers of the show have given fans a glimpse of the new lair which shall be called the ‘Arrow Bunker.’
The headquarters look very sleek and many believe that it has everything that a superhero team needs. It also appears to have been designed as a compartmentalized bunker, with specific areas for suit storage, hacker central, team meetings, and just about any other thing that a band of superhero needs to go around their business of fighting bad guys and saving people from their claws.
“Arrow” showrunner Marc Guggenheim said that they had to design the new lair bigger because Olver Queen’s Team Arrow is already growing bigger despite the departure of several of its members and move on to their respective spin-off series, including “The Flash” and “The Atom.”
Guggenheim said that one of the things he finds interesting about the ‘Arrow Bunker’ is that it’s a much larger space but divided into smaller space.
The showrunner said the new headquarters will have an area for Felicity, played by Emily Bett Rickards, to work, an area for Oliver to do his daily physical regimen, and also a garage. In addition, the bunker will still have different places that viewers would get to know of during the course of Season 4.
