The Season 4 finale of the American superhero drama TV series “Arrow” will be airing on May 25 on The CW and judging from last week’s explosive penultimate episode, it will certainly be a blast.
No less than Stephen Amell, who portrays the role of Oliver Queen, a.k.a. the Green Arrow, confirmed in a recent interview that the Season 4 finale will feature a scene that is really unlike anything that they have done in the show in the past, reports TV Line.
He said that Oliver Queen needs to get into a certain state of mind before setting out to stop Damien Darhk, played by Neal McDonough, from reacquiring the Rubicon and using it to let the entire world burn.
Amell said that the Season 4 finale will be a lot different than the riding off to the sunset Season 3 finale last year, which means that there could be a possible cliffhanger towards the end.
Photo teases of the Season 4 finale
The CW incidentally released several photos for the Season 4 finale of “Arrow” just days after its 22nd and penultimate episode shown on May 18.
The pictures seem to suggest that it could very well be the last time that the Green Arrow and Damien Darhk will face off in “Arrow.”
The synopsis also said that Oliver will team up with a surprising force in an attempt to stop Damien Darhk and his magic once and for all, details Comingsoon.net.
It would be interesting to find out what the surprising force would be but given the relation of “Arrow” with the other superhero drama TV series on The CW based on DC Comics, it would not surprise fans and viewers if it could be someone or some guys from “The Flash” or “Legends of Tomorrow.”
Unraveling the mystery
The mystery that Season 4 of “Arrow” showed in its premiere episode seems to have been unraveled already after the 18th episode that was aired on The CW on April 13.
Towards the end of the first episode of the fourth season of “Arrow,” Oliver Queen was shown half-sitting in front of a tombstone with Barry Allen, played by Grant Gustin, from “The Flash” TV series standing behind him and consoling him afterward.
The biggest question then was the identity of the person in the grave who seems to be quite close to Oliver that the latter was so distraught and even promising to take revenge for.
It seems clear that the person in the grave is no other than Dinah Laurel Lance or the Black Canary, played by Katie Cassidy, after she was killed by Damien Darhk in episode 18.
That surely left Oliver as the Green Arrow quite distraught especially coming on the heels of his separation with Felicity, played by Emily Bett Rickards. Laurel, after all, was a former girlfriend while Felicity is still his wife.
While many of the fans of the TV series were disappointed to see a fan-favorite character go, most of them still nurture hopes that Laurel Lance will eventually turn up alive in the future, banking on the fact that “Arrow” is one TV series that likes bringing supposedly dead characters back. The TV series has done it in the past in the cases of Sarah Lance, played by Caity Lotz, and also with Malcolm Merlyn, played by John Barrowman.
The 19th episode of “Arrow” that aired on The CW on April 27 featured Laurel’s father, Captain Quentin Lance of the Star City Police Department, played by Paul Blackthorne, suffering from great denial that his daughter was dead and gone.
