Arrow Season 4 Episode 19 to See Team Arrow Consoling Captain Lance Over the Demise of Laurel, And More

The mystery that Season 4 of the American superhero drama TV series “Arrow” showed in its premiere episode seems to have been unraveled already after the 18th episode that was aired on The CW on April 13.

Towards the end of the first episode of the fourth season of “Arrow,” Oliver Queen, played by Stephen Amell, was shown half-sitting in front of a tombstone with Barry Allen, played by Grant Gustin, from “The Flash” TV series, standing behind him and consoling him afterwards.

The biggest question then was the identity of the person in the grave who seems to be quite close to Oliver that the latter was so distraught and even promising to take revenge for.

It seems clear that the person in the grave is no other than Laurel Lance or the Black Canary, played by Katie Cassidy, after she was killed by Damien Darhk, played by Neal Mcdonough, in episode 18.

That left Oliver as the Green Arrow quite distraught especially coming on the heels of his separation with Felicity, played by Emily Bett Rickards. Laurel, after all, was a former girlfriend while Felicity is still his wife.

While many of the fans of the TV series were disappointed to see a fan-favorite character go, most of them still nurture hopes that Laurel Lance will eventually turn up alive in the future, banking on the fact that “Arrow” is one TV series who likes bringing supposedly dead characters back. The TV series has done it in the past in the cases of Sarah Lance, played by Caity Lotz, and also in Malcolm Merlyn, played by John Barrowman.

Still in denial

The upcoming 19th episode of “Arrow” to air on The CW on April 27 will feature Laurel’s father, Captain Quentin Lance of the Star City Police Department, played by Paul Blackthorne, still in great denial that his daughter is dead and gone.

The episode, which shall have a title “Canary Cry” will feature the Team Arrow, led by Oliver Queen, coming to the support of Captain Lance as he deals with a difficult time given the insurmountable pain he is feeling for losing a daughter, notes the Ecumenical News.

As a father, he will attempt at asking Nyssa, played by Katrina Law, to bring her daughter back at the Lazarus Pit in Nanda Parbat and also seeking the approval of Oliver for it.

He shall reportedly be experiencing hallucinations that Laurel is still alive because he will continue to have sightings of the Black Canary, which could mean that a copycat is out or perhaps the original Black Canary will be coming back in Sarah Lance.

Never supposed to happen

In a recent interview with executive producers Marc Guggenheim and Wendy Mericle, they confirmed that Laurel’s demise is not fake. They admitted that they have done fake deaths in the TV series before but they will not do it again in the case of Laurel.

Paul Blackthorne, who was also with the two showrunners during the interview, interjected that the death of Laurel was just devastating for Quentin because it was something that was never supposed to happen.

The actor said that his character has to pick up the pieces and not the bottle and reconcile with whatever is left in his life. He still has the Team Arrow as family and he expects to find his anchor in them without Laurel.

As far as Team Arrow is concerned, the next episode will bring up some painful emotions as they will have to cope with losing Laurel even as her body is laid to rest at a funeral, details Cartermatt.
