Arrow Season 3 mid-season finale was a cliff hanger and fans are earnestly waiting for the mid-season premiere of the CW series. With the show returning in a few weeks, there are numerous scoops and plot twists that are doing the rounds.
The premiere episode of Arrow Season 3 is titled “Left Behind” and it takes up from where it was left off in the mid season finale. Olive Queen has disappeared, and team Arrow will take charge of the city in his absence.
Series executive producer, Marc Guggenheim has given the fans some insights about what to expect when Arrows Season 3 returns in January. He has said that the first few episodes will deal Oliver’s supposed death, and these are one of the few best episodes that the team has ever worked upon.
The mid-season finale titled “The Climb,” was where Oliver learned that his sister Thea was responsible for Sara’s mysterious murder. He finds out that Thea was drugged and forced into murdering Sara by Malcolm Merlyn, who is her biological father. Merlyn does this to get an excuse to kill Ra’s al Ghul vowing to avenge Sara’s death.
Oliver has a face-off with Ra’s high up in the eastern mountains. He goes ahead without any help from his Arrow team. While fighting, Ra’s al Ghul sends a sword deep into Oliver’s chest and then throws him from the edge of the mountain into the mouth of death.
While viewers sit on the edge of their seats to find out if Oliver is indeed dead, Guggenheim has revealed that following the disappearance of Oliver some other characters will come to the forefront. Laurel will be forced to wear the Black Canary costume.
Guggenheim has also said in an interview that with Oliver gone now, the second half of Arrow Season 3 will see Roy coming into the limelight. He will step up and fill the shoes of Oliver.
Arrow Season 3 will also see Slade Wilson (Manu Bennett) return to the action. There has been a lot of curiosity surrounding him after he was last seen in Arrow Season 2, and the writers have decided to get him back for Episode 14 of Arrow Season 3.
There will be several other DC Comic characters that will come into the main plot of Arrow Season 3. The Season 3 storyline will include Sarah, Si and Deathstroke. H.I.V.E and the Suicide Squad will also be brought in.
Arrow Season 3 will return with all new episodes on 21 January, 2015.
