“Mortal Kombat X” has been moving forward quite well, and the game has been getting particular praise for the line-up of characters that it offers. Many of its fans have been pleased with the overall quality of the game and the variety of its gameplay, and now we’ve been hearing some interesting rumors about what we can expect to see in it in the future. Recently, there have been some hints that Arnold Schwarzenegger’s Terminator might be one of the next characters to be added to the game, and while many fans were immediately hyped up for that possibility, in the end it turned out that this was not quite the case.
The idea has apparently been discussed behind the scenes and there was a very real plan to add the character to the game, and that might have even been planned for the most recently released DLC – but in the end, the developers didn’t manage to get it included in the release of this round of DLC.
Still, not all hope is lost – there are strong rumors that the studio is already working on a second DLC pack for the title and they’re already considering what characters could be included in it. Many ideas are reportedly being juggled behind the scenes and NetherRealm have been trying very hard to please fans across all segments of their market with their work on the new content.
And with that in mind, the Terminator is still on the table as a possibility, from what we can tell – but we have no idea if he will actually be included in the game or not. With various other ideas that the studio has to consider, it’s possible that he will get replaced by someone else in the end. According to the rumors that we’ve been hearing – that allegedly come from within the studio – a major part in determining what gets included in new DLC releases is the opinion of fans. So if enough people want to see the Terminator in the game, they will add him, one way or another.
More specifically, they’re looking at the T-800 version as that’s the most iconic representation of the fictional character that we’ve seen throughout the installments of the franchise over the years. There have been several Terminators on the screen, but the name T-800 means a lot to many fans of the franchise by itself, so it would make perfect sense for that version of the Terminator to be the one that gets included in the final release of the DLC pack.
As NetherRealm are considering their options for the “Kombat Pack 2”, we’re likely going to start hearing about their ideas sooner or later. We don’t know what timeframe the studio is looking at for the release of their new content, but hopefully they don’t plan on prolonging the development of new DLC too much. The game has a lot of fans right now and many people are waiting for some new characters to play around with.
So it would be smart of NetherRealm to step up their development efforts for new DLC right now, as they would get a lot of additional exposure thanks to the sheer hype surrounding their game at the moment. People are talking about “Mortal Kombat X” left and right, and many want to see new content added sooner rather than later. At the same time, people have been claiming that they would gladly pay varying amounts of money for a few extra specific characters, and NetherRealm would be smart to listen.
