Exactly 25 years after the blockbuster comedy “Kindergarten Cop” starring muscle man Arnold Schwarzenegger came out in theaters, a reboot of the film is due to come out soon.
However instead of a young action star playing the tough cop who disguised as a kindergarten teacher to apprehend a drug dealer, like most movie reboots do, a grizzled action star shall be taking over the lead role, with the full support of Arnold Schwarzenegger.
Apparently, it is going to be 57-year-old Swedish actor, director, and martial artist Dolph Lundgren who will take over the role of a substitute teacher to Arnold Schwarzenegger.
To be produced by Universal Pictures, the movie will not be released to theaters but straight to DVD. Reports have it that Lundgren has started shooting “Kindergarten Cop” in Vancouver early this month, cites the Digital Spy.
In a recent interview, Arnold Schwarzenegger said that his role as Detective John Kimble in “Kindergarten Cop” was his all-time favorite. But Lundgren will not be taking on the same role. Instead, he will play as an undercover cop aided by his Indian assistant Sanjit to recover a missing flash drive from the Federal Witness Protection program.
Schwarzenegger and Lundgren recently appeared in “The Expendables” movie franchise led by Sylvester Stallone, all of whom are action star heroes of the 80s.
“Kindergarten Cop” reboot is written by David H. Steinberg, who also wrote “American Pie 2.” It being directed by Don Michael Paul of “Tremors 5: Bloodlines.”
Collection of film explosions
Arnold Schwarzenegger may have plenty of time in his hands as of late as he managed to come up with a video clip of all the explosion features in all his movies.
It may not have been the actor who did it because he sure can hire a team to do that for him but iO9 certainly love the idea of the “Terminator” actor hunched over his MacBook fiddling with the Final Cut Pro, resulting to 30 minutes of video featuring the explosions in all of his films.
Arnold explained that the video was meant to show what he meant when he said that he can really blow shit up. He added that his team had to come up with some rules before coming up with the video.
Accordingly, explosions were counted frame by frame based on every instance of an actual explosion. He said that it includes repeated explosions as well as explosions within explosions, adding that explosions continued through an edit were only counted once.
Schwarzenegger said that an honest attempt was made to count every explosion based on such rules, but in some cases, an educated guess was made.
The video was made to promote a contest where individuals can win a chance to blow shit up with Schwarzenegger himself, which in turn was made to promote Arnold’s After-School All-Stars charity.
Lifting the spirits of the demoralized
Sometime in March, the Terminator showed that he is not just protecting people, he is also lifting their spirits up in the best way he knows how.
Arnold Schwarzenegger, the former California governor, has showed up by surprise in Reddit, a public billboard, to boost the morale of a demoralized young weightlifter after experiencing a bad day at the gym.
The Austrian-born actor was a weightlifter himself when he was still younger and has in fact been honored as Mr. Olympia seven times during his weightlifting career before deciding to go into the movies.
Schwarzenegger’s latest cameo appearance in the popular public message board was prompted by a 19-year-old weightlifter who narrated that he fell while performing squats and he had to cut his gym session short as several critical gym-goers started laughing at him. The young weightlifter was carrying the name GnashBrowns in Reddit.
One Reddit user read the post of GnashBrowns and decided to flag Schwarzenegger for help, knowing that the former California governor occasionally drops in at the public message board.
True enough, Schwarzenegger came to the rescue using his name GovSchwarzenegger on Reddit. The “Commando” star said that there is nothing to be ashamed of on the young power lifter’s efforts.
