While Ariana Grande has been in the news a lot because of her music lately, she’s also managed to find herself in the middle of some controversy which had the potential to affect her career negatively. Thankfully, her manager has a good head on his shoulders and he’s been doing his best to bring the situation under control and help restore the positive opinions that people had about the star. And in the end, her recent performance in Jakarta was met with a lot of positivity.
However, there’s no denying that her image has been changing a lot lately and she’s been shifting away from her innocent appearance that we knew her for in the beginning. Lately, she’s been showing off a more playful, womanly side and some have been describing her as naughty as well. There have also been comparisons to Miley Cyrus and Britney Spears, who also went through similar transformations and found themselves right in the middle of the spotlight just when they were starting to explore their personalities and discover themselves.
Her Honeymoon tour is underway at full speed and she’s been getting a lot of positive attention because of it, and her fans are currently eagerly anticipating her arrival at her next destinations. Her performances so far have been quite good, with various positive comments from all sides, and she’s been continuing to give it all she’s got every time she goes up on the stage.
Scooter Braun, her manager, has been talking to the public in the meantime, in what some publications have described as obvious damage control – but we can’t say we really blame him in the end, as it’s his responsibility to make sure that Grande doesn’t let her image slip into a negative light because of her lack of experience. And so far, what we’ve been hearing from Braun has been mostly positive, as he claimed that she’s been struggling to deal with the sudden attention of all the cameras focused on her.
As we said above, we can understand that point of view too, and hopefully Grande is going to find her way sometime soon. She has obvious potential on the stage and she has a lot more to give to her fans, but if she’s not careful with the way she presents herself to the public, she might run into some trouble in the future.
Miley Cyrus is a good example of that, as she’s currently suffering quite a lot from the negativity towards her image. She’s managed to establish a reputation for being quite inappropriate lately, and this has turned away many of her fans. At the same time, she’s been doing that in some questionable ways, acting quite out of line and like someone who’s attempting to look sexy but doesn’t really know what they’re doing. At least that was the common consensus among most people commenting on her appearance at that time, and we can say that we agree to some extent.
While Ariana Grande hasn’t gone that far yet – and hopefully she won’t – she does seem to be having some trouble controlling the comments she makes on some occasions. But with the help of a responsible manager like Scooter Braun, she should have no problem building up a good, positive image for herself in the eyes of the public, and establishing her name with a more positive association in the future. She definitely knows how to captivate her audience and deliver a solid performance, so she has that part down.
Unfortunately for Ariana Grande, talent alone will not over come vile behavior. Her manager (Scooter Braun) and his spin machine can do little to repair what Grande exposed herself to really be.
