After receiving massive backlash as well as plenty of bashing and criticisms for her donut-licking shenanigan, it seems like the tide of hatred has subsided in favor of Ariana Grande, especially since the pop singer won’t be facing any charges for her recent act of mischief. TMZ reports that the owner of Wolfee Donuts has decided not to pursue legal actions versus the 22-year-old songstress after investigations claim that the singer did not actually purchase the donuts that she licked.
The “Break Free” singer is now focusing on her upcoming horror-comedy TV series on Fox “Scream Queens.” The first season of the horror anthology revolves around a campus that is plagued by a series of murders involving the Kappa Kappa Tau sorority. It is said that an incident that occurred 20 years ago may be the root of these campus killings.
During the recently concluded ComicCon in San Diego, series showrunner Ryan Murphy held an hour-long presentation for his horror TV shows “American Horror Story” and “Scream Queens.” The network simultaneously released a series of videos individually introducing the sorority girls called the Chanels, played by Emma Roberts, Ariana Grande, Billie Lourd, and Abigail Breslin.
Roberts talks of her character, Chanel Oberlin, as the posse’s ringleader, saying she’s such a Queen Bee she named her best friends after her. Roberts adds that her character is not exactly warm and fuzzy and that viewers will remind Chanel Oberlin of Madison Montgomery of “American Horror Story: Coven,” which she also portrayed.
Ariana plays Chanel #2 and describes her character as the safest and least daring one. In the video, the star also gets candid about the time Murphy talked to her and offered her the role saying she has been a fan of Murphy’s works for a long time. Although commissioned for only a recurring role, Murphy notes that he has plans on expanding the singer’s role in the show.
Newcomer Billie Lourd speaks of her character, Chanel #3, as the sassy and low-key one. ‘The Final Girl’ star Abigail Breslin rounds up the Chanels. Breslin, who plays Chanel #5 says that she’s the smartest and most cunning of the group but says that she’s also the sociopath among the girls.
One of the show’s mystery is the identity of another one of Oberlin’s minions, Chanel #4. Fans will have to wait for the two-hour series premiere of “Scream Queens” on September 22 to find out. The series also stars Jamie Lee Curtis, Lea Michele, and Nick Jonas.
The donut-licking fiasco
It will be recalled that earlier this month, a video of Ariana and her backup dancer-boyfriend maliciously licking donuts left on a tray at a pastry shop in Lake Elsinore, California went viral. In the video, the “Problem” hitmaker was also heard saying she hates America and Americans as well.
The songstress issued an immediate apology through Twitter saying that her actions were taken out of context and that she was just upset with childhood obesity levels plaguing the US. Two days after, the former Nickelodeon star issued a second apology, this time through the video sharing site YouTube. She uploaded a four-minute video titled “Sorry Babes” detailing her sincere apology and her side of the story as well. She apologized for behaving poorly and clarifies that she’s proud being an American.
After her not-so-sweet donut debacle, the “Victorious” star has also continued with her Honeymoon tour. ABC Action News reports that the pop princess started her Honeymoon Tour on July 16 at the Amalie Arena in Tampa, Florida. This week, Ariana and her Honeymoon team are bound to Louisville, Kentucky for some show-stopping performances. The tour is part of her second album “My Everything” that already went platinum. It is expected to end sometime in October with the tour having a few stops in Asia.
Ariana Grande does not deserve to be influencing fans most of who will be riding the bus to school the day after her concert. This is a medicore performer who committed a crime (assault as defined by California statue), treats people like trash, made the most ‘phobic remarks of all when declaring her hatred of America and Americans and even stated she wanted her own fans to die.
She didn’t lick the donuts, it was a prank, like chicken. And don’t act like you have never said you hated something or someone and not meant it. Sure, she was a little out of line but she owned up to it and apologized….Chris Brown committed crimes (that were way bigger than licking a dusty donut) that he did not apologize for….and all those rumors….They are just that…..They are rumors….not proven……I have heard many rumors in my life, that were very believable…..but werent true at all. It’s called forgive…plus I’m sure I’d she hated America….truly hated…. at least 3/4 of her tour wouldn’t be in the US.
At least I know what the hell is going to go on. By the way, my mentioning the theft of the Runabout USS Rubicon is just a bluff to get the donut shop owner’s attention and pursue me instead.
She is such a spoiled, rotten person, she.does not deserve to be in her position. To say she hates all americans?really? You don’t even deserve to be in our great nation.
