Ariana Grande Follows Footsteps of Miley, Lady Gaga, Rihanna, and Nicki Minaj in Lending Name to MAC Cosmetics!

Ariana Grande is the latest music celebrity to become the face for MAC Cosmetics’ Viva Glam campaign. The 22-year-old songstress follows the footsteps of big name singers who have previously lent their names to the popular brand including Miley Cyrus, Lady Gaga, Rihanna, and Nicki Minaj, notes the Daily Mail.

MAC Cosmetics made the announcement on October 27 via Instagram when it welcomed Ariana Grande to its family along with a picture of the “Love Me Harder” singer. The company also introduced her as their Viva Glam girl and that the featured products would be made available beginning in January 2016.

Ari was shown in the picture wearing a black tube and her lipstick appears almost black with a shade of purple too. The “Bang Bang” singer’s lipstick color is darker compared to Miley’s Viva Glam shade of pink and RiRi’s red hue, details MTV.

For a good cause

More than just being the new image model of MAC Cosmetics’ Viva Glam campaign, Ariana is also doing a social undertaking in the process as proceeds to be generated by the campaign will go directly to men, women, and children afflicted with HIV and AIDS.

The Viva Glam line includes a matte finish plum-colored lipstick and shimmering baby pink lip gloss.

Ariana also posted her message on Instagram saying that she is beyond honored and excited to be working with a brand that stands for and always has stood for equality.

She said that her lipstick and gloss will be available beginning in January next year and that every penny goes to people affected by HIV and AIDS. Ariana added that she has loved and supported MAC Cosmetics ever since she was a little girl walking through the mall and seeing the company’s first Viva Glam girl RuPaul in the window.

RuPaul is actually the first Viva Glam spokeswoman for the brand and she was followed by many big-name and reputable celebrities.

Not her first foray into beauty products

The entry of Ariana to the Viva Glam campaign of MAC Cosmetics is actually not her first foray into the beauty business.

She just released in September her own perfume called ARI by Ariana Grande. Before the official launch of her new scent, the “Problem” singer also appeared in “Good Morning America” where she described her new perfume as really sweet and yummy.

Ariana also said that she was fairly new to the fragrance industry, but she believes that her perfume is really sweet because it contains a little bit of marshmallow and a little bit of raspberry too.

Attempting a new look

The ponytail with matching ribbon has been a signature hairstyle of Ariana Grande but for a brief moment early this month, the “Problem” singer lose the do, took a picture of herself, and posted it on Instagram. She may have thought of sporting a new look but decided against it later on.

It was a brief showcase on the part of the 22-year-old songstress because after posting a selfie of herself displaying her loose and straight hair on October 8, she then took down the picture, leaving her fans wondering what was that all about.

However, before the picture was taken down by Ari, several of her fans have already saved it. Ari’s selfie shows her hair completely down and parted in the center. She looks very womanly minus the ponytail and she seems to be a bit more fresh-faced, compared to her looks in her ongoing “Honeymoon” tour. She also wore very light makeup, that made her look very energized.

Of late, Ariana has been sporting the high ponytail and the half ponytail but she has been switching her look. She recently showed off her natural curls on Instagram and she likewise took on the Spice Girls double bun hairstyle too.
