In 2015, it was first revealed that following “Cinderella’s” release, Disney is planning a slew of live-action adaptations including “Beauty and the Beast.”
Last May, Disney premiered the first ever teaser for the film. The short clip reached 91.8 million views within 24 hours of viewing on different digital platforms.
Some two months later, Disney released the first official teaser for the film. By November, Entertainment Weekly debuted the first official photos from the film. Watson and Disney then shared a new poster for the film a few days later.
The first theatrical trailer was released on November 14, and it reached a whopping 127.6 million views in its first 24 hours beating out the trailer for “Fifty Shades Darker.” The record has been beaten by “The Fast and the Furious.”
To welcome the year, Disney has released a new trailer for the upcoming film during the recently held Golden Globe awards and it finally features Watson’s singing voice.
The character was singing “Belle (Reprise)” in the newest TV spot. Susan Egan, who originated the role of Belle on Broadway and Paige O’ Hara, who voiced Belle in the original animated film and its sequels, offered to help Watson with her singing lessons.
The movie’s Twitter account then released a snippet of Watson’s singing voice, this time singing “Something There.”
