Apple Watch Users Come Up with Nerdy Ways to Spruce Up their Smart Wearables!

Since its formal launch on March 9, the Apple Watch has made it to the mainstream consciousness of the smart wearable consumers who have since regarded it as one of the better smartwatches out in the market today.

It also came out with its very own operating system called the Apple Watch OS, which is the equivalent of the Android Wear on Android smartwatches, and Tizen on Samsung’s smart wearables.

In September, Apple released an upgrade to its Apple Watch OS with the Apple Watch OS 2, bringing along a slew of bug fixes and new features. However, the Apple Watch OS 2 had a major issue when it caused software updates to the Apple Watch to stall or hang, leaving many users worried, agitated, or worst, angry.

Typical of Apple, the company does not take such critical issue sitting down so it immediately buckled down to work to develop an update to the Apple Watch OS 2.

True enough, on October 21, exactly a month after the American tech giant released the Apple Watch OS 2, the Apple Watch OS 2.0.1 was unveiled as an upgrade to the previous firmware update on the Apple Watch.

Customs faces of the Apple Watch

Users of Apple Watch have had some time tinkering around with the customs faces of their smart wearable especially with the help of the Apple Watch OS 2. In fact, the more creative and sci-fi savvy users have already come up with delightfully nerdy ways to spruce up their devices, notes Cult of Mac.

Some of the users have resorted to making specially-formatted faces that showcase their love of games, movies, and TV shows. The enterprising ones somehow managed to integrate coordinated Apple Watch bands into the smart wearable’s designs.

Among the more famous customs faces of the Apple Watch include the Portal Apple Watch based on the puzzle video game series developed by Valve Corporation, the Dick Tracy version, the R2-D2 and C-3PO versions, the Gameboy custom face, the “Fallout 4” version, and the Newton MessagePad version.

Depending on the technical creativity of users, they can also come up with various other customs faces for their Apple Watch with the help of the wearable’s operating system.

Apple Watch promo on Target

Meanwhile, US retail giant Target has included the Apple Watch as part of its upcoming Black Friday deals immediately following the Thanksgiving celebration.

In addition to the Apple Watch, two of the American tech giant’s latest gadgets would also be offered for a Black Friday promo, reports The Verge.

Consumers who will buy an Apple Watch during Black Friday at Target will get a $100 Target gift card. The same amount of Target gift card will be given to those who will purchase the Apple iPad mini 4 during the sales event. For those who will buy an Apple iPad Air 2 on Black Friday, they will get a $150 gift card.

Those are just some of the many other items that will have great deals on Target on Black Friday including toys, bags of chocolates, TVs, cameras, video games, and gadgets.

When the Apple Watch came out in March this year, it was laden with a ton of features. But with the release of the Apple Watch OS 2 in September, it further brought new and refreshed features to enrich the Apple Watch user experience.

The Apple Watch OS 2 made Siri smarter, public transport already shows up in Maps, and it also comes with new watch faces.

With the OS 2, the Facebook Messenger app on the Apple Watch is now able to text, send audio files, and share locations right from the wrist.

The Digital Crown of the Apple Watch provides functionality beyond zooming in and out. Rotating the crown allows the user to sort of travel in time showing various events up to 72 hours into the future or in the past right on the watch face.
