Apple Watch 2 to Launch Simultaneously with the iPhone 7, Latest Rumors Say; Device to Showcase Minor Improvements Only

Earlier reports indicate that the Apple Watch 2 will be more functional than its predecessor and will encompass key specs such as call and text features besides enhancing fitness-related specs.

The first version of the smartwatch was a hit to the health-conscious and the fitness buffs despite the technical difficulties encountered with some of its health-related features. Hence, Apple will likely upgrade that aspect of the second-generation device.

Just last week, the Apple Watch slashed off a major cut in its price tag in celebration of Memorial Day.

The original version of the smartwatch featured a $200 discount at Best Buy. However, it was only limited to the stainless steel model and was only available during the Memorial Day weekend.

Meanwhile, Valuewalk reports that Apple is also expected to produce a new mid-range version of the watch, possibly priced at $3,000 in order to compete with entry-level Rolex and Omega units.

Also, a new watchOS release is expected to accompany the Apple Watch 2. If the device will indeed launch in September, then watchOS 3 will already be available by that time.

Apple has not yet commented on whether rumors circulating about its upcoming wearable device. However, since the WWDC is coming up, it is expected that the tech giant will clue in tech enthusiast about the Apple Watch 2.
