Apple Watch 2 to Have a Longer Battery Life than its Predecessor; Apple Watch Price Cut Signals Impending Arrival of Successor

One of the criticisms the first-generation Apple Watch received was its functionality. The device must be paired with an iPhone 5 or higher models running iOS 8.2 or later versions for users to utilize its full capability.

When paired with an iPhone, the Apple Watch is capable of receiving notification, messages, and phone calls. It also supports Apple Pay and third party apps.

Some users of the device found it very dependent on an iPhone and useless without one. Apple has promised that the Apple Watch 2 will have more functionality than the predecessor and will be a wearable device worthy to stand on its own.

The Apple Watch was an instant hit as it was a pilot invention from Apple. However, interest started waning and its sales started to deflate after mixed receptions.

Kou predicts that the Apple Watch 2 will be sold at a retail price of $200. There are also reports saying that it will come along a bundle with the iPhone 7, but Apple is unlikely to do that.

Apple has not yet given an official announcement regarding the speculations but tech enthusiasts can expect the tech giant to unveil their latest offering during their annual event in a little over a week’s time.
