Apple Watch 2 Officially Comes Out as Apple Watch Series 2 Featuring a Water-Resistant Shell and a GPS Chip!

The devices will be available on the market beginning September 9 but the watchOS 3 will come to their devices over-the-air on September 13.

Since its launch in March last year, the Apple Watch has become the best-selling device in its category, though smartwatches still trail far behind the more basic fitness trackers that companies like Fitbit excel at.

But when speaking about the Apple Watch in comparison with other big-name brands, Apple CEO Tim Cook said that the product line became the No. 2 watch line by revenue, just 18 months after launch, behind only Rolex products.

The Apple Watch Series 2 was previously reported to come out during Apple’s “Let Us Loop You In” event in March since it actually marked the full-year market cycle of its predecessor, but that did not happen.

Subsequently, it was rumored to come out during Apple’s Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) 2016 held in June but that also did not happen.

On the third try of the speculations, it finally happened and it looks like the wait was well worth it because the device is certainly several notches better than its predecessor even if is not too obvious when it comes to external design, just like the latest iPhones from the American tech giant.
