Apple Unveils the IPad Mini 3 at $399, Release Date Yet To Be Confirmed

The Apple iPad Mini 3 was unveiled on 16th October at an event, alongside the iPad Air 2. Apple has introduced quite a few new features with the latest gadget such as Touch ID fingerprint sensor immediately below the home button and a new Gold plated design.

So the primary question that is bound to bug every gadget and Apple freak here is what are the primary differences between both devices and which device is the winner?

Apple has used the same display, the same camera and basically the same design on both these devices, save for the Gold plated design, which oozes elegance of course!

The iPad Mini 3 does not even sport the A8 processor, which finds abode in the latest iPhone 6 and 6 Plus, or the A8x processor that is found on the iPad Air, for that matter. Hugely disappointing if we may add!

Design:

The iPad Mini 3 is an excellently built device sporting a 4:3 display. The device is difficult to hold and use with a single hand but much more comfortable than the iPad Air. However, considering that you have the dough, the iPad Mini 3 is the best device in the range that money can buy

You can never go wrong with an Apple and the iPad Mini 3 proves it once again. The device could be a little more compact though. We are not complaining! However, if you’re confused between the iPhone 6, the iPhone 6 Plus and the iPad Mini 3, going for the 6 Plus is the obvious choice.

Release Date:

The iPad Mini 3 is available for pre-order right now, although, Apple is yet to announce the official release date of the device. The official statement from Apple states that the “device will go on sale next week.”

Price:

The iPad Mini 3 can be yours for $399 and is available in three built-in memory options, namely 16, 64 and 128 GB variants. Apple plans to sell the iPad Mini 2 at $300, which we believe is a better deal at the moment. The reason being there are no major differences between the two devices, save for Touch ID. Both devices even run on the same hardware. Hence, if you do not plan on simply showing off, the iPad Mini 2 saves you $100.

Rumors So Far:

A French website revealed spy images of the device first, and it managed to attract the attention of the masses. The only confirmed addition to the iPad Mini 3 is the Touch ID sensor, as we mentioned before. The iPad Mini 3 also bears rounded and soft edges that lend it a premium feel in the class.

Stay tuned for more!
