But Apple already expected the sales decline because the company knew that it would really happen as early as 2009 when it projected that the iPhone sales will cannibalize the sales of its other devices, and that became quite true with the iPod Touch.
And as it turned out, Apple was not about to let go of its iconic music player device. Prior to its launch, it was reported that the device would feature a Retina display. So when the device comes out, Retina displays will become the norm for all of future media players from Apple.
The release of the Apple iPod Touch 6th Generation this year actually marks the third year since the American tech company launched to the retail markets the iPod Touch 5th Generation in 2012.
In addition to its water-resistant and Siri features, Apple has put a lot of groundbreaking features on the music device to ensure that it will have a captured market.
Accordingly, the iPod Touch 6th Generation also features Apple’s mobile payment system, the Apple Pay. The device is being powered by an A9 microprocessor, which is way better than the chipset currently being used in the manufacture of the iPhone 6.
The processor is said to be better and faster than the ones used by its predecessor.
