Apple’s next iPhone has always been on the tech world’s watchlist year in and year out. With the mixed reviews the American tech giant got from the new iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus upon its launch in September last year, people are not certain on what to expect for the rumored iPhone 7. But there are already rumors all over the internet about the upcoming iPhone from Apple.
It was reported that the rumored iPhone 7 will have similar size display screen with the iPhone 6, which is 4.7 inches. But there are speculations that the rumored iPhone 7 will come out in three variants. The first one will reportedly be the standard 4.7-inch iPhone 7; the second one would be the 5.5-inch iPhone 7 Plus; and the third one is to be called the iPhone 7C which will reportedly have a display screen of only 4 inches.
Size is one of the main complaints of those who purchased the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus. Though it is very trendy to have bigger-sized smartphones, loyal Apple users are accustomed to using a 4-inch display screen. With the extended screen size of the iPhone 6 lines, it has appeared too big that it is almost close to being a tablet. That is why it is possible that Apple will bring back the 4-inch display iPhone through the iPhone 7c.
It is also reported that the rumored iPhone 7 lines that Apple may be releasing in September this year may actually be thinner than the iPhone 6 and the iPhone 6 Plus. This is actually the standard of the tech industry nowadays: creating thinner and more powerful smartphones. This time, Apple CEO Tim Cook can get on the stage to boast about having the slimmest iPhone in the world. But looking back at the previous design alterations from Apple, the change in thickness might be very small compared to the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus.
As far as the design goes, there are a couple of leak images that suggest the rumored iPhone 7 will follow the iPhone 6 design. Apple has had a radical design change in 2014 when they introduced the iPhone 5 lines so it is unlikely for them to go back to the former designs.
Apple is said to be making significant improvements on the battery life of the rumored iPhone 7 too. However, there are a couple of tech naysayers like Jony Ive who said Apple does not really care on improving the battery life of their iPhone products because as he said, the company can live with this sacrifice for as long as they are making improvements on the other areas of the device. But with the new iOS 9, the rumored iPhone 7 can experience an enhancement on the battery life since there is less need for Apple to squeeze in a bigger battery.
Of course, Apple may touch base with the fact that they can easily improve the screen resolution of their new line. With their Retina feature that ensures higher screen resolution and sharp graphics, Apple is stepping up its game in this department.
The company has been largely criticized with the screen resolution of the iPhone 6 because it did not really live up to its promise. At the same time, Apple’s competitors were constantly releasing new flagship smartphones that are superior to iPhone 6 when it comes to screen resolution.
The iPhones, however, are very popular in their camera lenses. Apple has even called out a community called “iPhone Photography” who only uses the basic camera tools of the iPhone. There were even international competitions in this category.
With the rumored iPhone 7, they can apply the DSLR-like photos that every smartphone is aiming for. The Sony Xperia line has definitely managed to incorporate high-end cameras on their new devices, but the rumored Apple iPhone 7 will take the same path. Reports suggest that the device could feature a 12-megapixel rear-facing camera. This is still far from Sony’s 20+MP rear cameras, but the quality of iPhone photos are still undebatable.
