Apple iPhone 7 Plus to Come in Single and Dual-Camera Models Featuring LinX Technology!

There have been plenty of rumors surrounding the next-generation iPhones that will be launched by the American tech giant this coming September.

A lot of renders have been published on the internet regarding the possible appearance of the Apple iPhone 7 and the iPhone 7 Plus, but all of them are mere speculations pending the confirmation or denial from the American tech giant.

There is just too many high-flying iPhone 7 concept designs over the past few months as the leaks continue to flow and it seems it will go on all the way until the official unveiling of the iPhone 7 and the iPhone 7 Plus, reports Techno Buffalo.

However, the latest reports making the rounds on the internet regarding the next generation iPhones suggest that it will feature dual-camera variants, which would be a first time for Apple smartphones.

But accordingly, the dual-camera model shall only be exclusive to the 5.5-inch iPhone 7 Plus while the 4.7-inch iPhone 7 shall continue to have the usual single-camera model. The upgraded camera is expected to introduce the optical zoom and some new photography features.

The confirmation came from respected KGI Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, who said back in January that Apple has both single and dual-camera iPhone 7 Plus models in development. Apple has reportedly received dual-lens camera samples from suppliers for testing purposes the following month, details Macrumors.

Camera improvements on the next generation iPhones

The rumored camera improvements on the iPhone 7 and the iPhone 7 Plus were actually linked to Apple’s recent acquisition of LinX Technology that would ensure DSLR-quality photos on iPhones.

The multi-aperture cameras of LinX are also smaller-sized than single-aperture cameras, which means that the iPhone 7 Plus could have a slightly less protruding cameras compared to the current and previous iPhone models.

In addition, LinX camera modules sport a number of other superb features including 3D depth mapping, better color accuracy and uniformity, ultra HDR, low noise levels, higher resolution, low costs, zero shutter lag, and a very compact design to enable the edge-to-edge displays.

Based on recent leaks, the rear camera module of the iPhone 7 Plus has been expanded to provide space for a second lens.

Other features

The recent renders and concept of the iPhone 7 also showed that the headphone jack is gone and is already replaced by a second bottom-facing speaker.

The iPhone’s antenna bonds have also been moved to the edges of the device for a cleaner look. Apple is also expected to offer an updated set of EarPods with a Lightning port plug.

There have also been rumors that the iPhone 7 could possibly feature a ceramic back or that it will feature wireless charging and a built-in Touch ID.

In addition, there have been speculations that the latest iPhone from the American tech giant will also feature the USB Type-C port, which was featured first for the Apple MacBook when it was launched in March last year.

While wireless charging is no longer new among the latest smartphones, it seems that the technology that Apple would be using for its iPhone 7 promises to be better than the rest.

Accordingly, Apple has forged an agreement with a small company called Energous to bring in what is called as the WattUp technology to the iPhone.

Apple shall have exclusive rights to the technology, which would allow the iPhone 7 and other future devices from the American tech giant to charge wirelessly from distances as far away as 15 feet.

The Energous chip shall reportedly be added inside the device and is so small that it would not have an effect or impact on the size of the iPhone 7.
