Apple have been very quiet on the iPhone front lately, and while many people were expecting the company to release the iPhone 7 this year, this might not be the case after all. The complete silence on Apple’s part could probably be an indication that the company has no major releases planned in the iPhone department, as we should have heard some more concrete rumors by this point if that was true. But on the other hand, we’ve been hearing more and more rumors about the iPhone 6S, and it’s looking very likely that this device will hit the market before the end of 2015.
According to the rumors, it will be a small-sized iPhone 6 with various changes to make it a more attractive option for certain market segments, but it will still preserve the characteristic design and style of the iPhone 6. Furthermore, some rumors are actually claiming that the device is going to be a “replacement” for the iPhone 7 as the company is not planning to release the latter at all.
If the new device really is being prepared, we can expect to see it on the market around September, as that’s when the company usually makes their major releases. Some fans were actually expecting them to bring out the iPhone 7 at that time, but as we said above, if this was indeed about to happen we should have heard some rumors by now.
There are rumors that the new device will be a bit more than simply a downsized iPhone 6 however, as possibly indicated by certain patents that Apple have applied for recently, as well as rumors from behind the company’s doors. Even though the company’s market share has been on the rise, their fans have been a bit disappointed by the lack of any serious new developments in terms of technology.
