Apple iPhone 7 May Get a Substantial Redesign When it Comes Out Next Year!

While the latest iPhones from Apple have just officially made it to the global retail markets on September 25 following their formal launching on September 9 during the American tech giant’s “One More Thing” event, speculations are now spreading like wildfire on the internet about the upcoming iPhone 7.

Although, it would be absurd for Apple to make any statement to either confirm or deny the rumors going around about the iPhone 7 as those will definitely steal the thunder from the iPhone 6S and the iPhone 6S Plus in the market, it seems as if the speculations would continue until next year.

There have been reports that after it came out of the retail markets, the iPhone 6S and the iPhone 6S Plus have posted record-breaking sales for Apple, shipping more than 13 million units worldwide barely a week after its official release.

Any report from the American tech giant at this time about the iPhone 7 would certainly pour ice cold water on the seeming success of the company’s current iPhones, which Apple would not want to happen.

Substantial redesign

Without meaning to entice buyers into looking forward to the release of the iPhone 7 rather than settle for the current iPhone 6S and iPhone 6S Plus, critics believe that the iPhone 7 is likely to get a substantial physical redesign when it comes out next year, notes Macworld of UK.

The last four iPhones – the iPhone 6, the iPhone 6 Plus, the iPhone 6S, and the iPhone 6S Plus – are fairly identical in sizes and coming up with another similar-sized smartphone would make the brand bland.

Reports indicate that the iPhone 7 could be thinner than the iPhone 6S because it would do away with the cut-down headphone socket.

There is a likely possibility that Apple would launch its iPhone 7 and the iPhone 7 Plus in September next year. The iPhone 7 will sport a 4.7-inch size while the iPhone 7 Plus will measure 5.5 inches.

There are also reports that Apple might include a 4-inch variant of the iPhone 7 which shall be called as the iPhone 7 mini although given the history of the American tech giant, it does not use the word mini on its smartphones but only on its iPad devices.

No more bendgate

The Apple iPhone 6 and the iPhone 6 Plus succumbed to bendgate reports just weeks after they were officially released in September last year.

But the American tech giant appears to have learned from the defect and thus made sure that the iPhone 6S and the iPhone 6S Plus shall no longer suffer from the same problem.

Forbes reported that just before the iPhone 6S and the iPhones 6S Plus were unveiled to the market last month, they already survived bend tests, reinforcing further how strong the aluminum used in the latest iPhones.

In addition, the latest iPhones are also water-resistant. And this was also proven by YouTube user Zach Straley after dipping the two latest iPhones in bowls of water with the timers running.

Some 48 hours after the waterproof test took place, the iPhone 6S ended up having a diagonal line running across the screen that is barely noticeable. It is impressive that the diagonal line was the only issue because Apple never said that the new iPhones are waterproof.

Notwithstanding the issue on how Apple will call its next iPhones, latest reports coming out are now focused on some of the key features of the upcoming smartphones from the American tech giant.

Accordingly, Apple is now working to incorporate a new chip or processor on its upcoming iPhones that would allow fingerprint sensing from the touchscreen itself.
