Apple iPad Pro Could Launch This Year, Featuring Force Touch!

Ever since Apple revealed the Force Touch technology with their Apple Watch, people have been talking left and right about the feature. It seems like many of the company’s fans want to see the new feature in other devices with touch input now, including phones and tablets. The iPad Pro in particular has been the subject of much speculation in this regard, as there have been some strong rumors lately that Apple are planning to release it with Force Touch.

The device is most likely coming at some point this year, according to the same rumors, but we don’t know the exact date yet. It was initially speculated that we would see the new iPad Pro in the first quarter of this year, but this obviously turned out to be wrong. Now, people are expecting the device to show up sometime before the end of the summer season, but with no official information from Apple it’s hard to tell where the truth is.

Force Touch would probably make a lot of sense on the iPad Pro, as the device is perfect for adding an extra layer of depth to its touch input controls. The feature basically allows a touchscreen to have a “secondary” tap feature, much like the right mouse button on a desktop device, and this is done by lightly tapping the screen instead of pressing it.

It can be used to do things like open context menus, show previews, expand additional controls and more – Apple have been quite creative in their use of the feature so far, but we’re sure that they will eventually come up with even more ways to implement it into the operating system, as they tend to have some creative solutions for these things in general.

What else can we expect from the new device? It could come with a 12.9 inch screen, which would make it a pretty big tablet – bigger than the current iPad Air, and even bigger than some notebook models on the market. That would be an interesting move by Apple, but we certainly wouldn’t put it past them to give it a try.

It could also have a 2K resolution, or 2048×1536 – combined with the large screen, this could make the new iPad Pro a great multimedia device and a fantastic companion for people looking to get some actual work done on the go. The iPad has already established a name for itself for this particular purpose, and we could see it gaining even more popularity if the iPad Pro delivers a good experience on that front.
