But many users have been a bit reluctant to adopt, claiming that it’s going to be a messy period for a while as we still have devices on the old system – and we’re going to have them for quite some time too.
It will take a bit of time before the new standard is adopted by everyone, but it won’t be the first time the industry has had to see a massive change like that, and in the previous cases, it was usually for the better.
Until then, we’re hoping that Apple are also going to become a bit more willing to comply with the common standards, as they are the company that has been the most reluctant to adopt new changes on the market when they don’t coincide with Apple’s own plans.
There are still several months to go in 2015, and if the company really is planning something for this year, then they have plenty of time to make their announcements. Current rumors claim that their next releases are going to be around October/November, although this is just speculation and Apple haven’t made any announcements for that period yet. Which, knowing the company, is perfectly typical for them and is no indication of whether or not they are preparing any releases.
