Perhaps more interestingly, there are also rumors that Apple are planning to introduce some overlap between the iPad Air and Pro lines, although we aren’t too sure what that could imply for both series of products.
According to the rumors, the main implication is likely that the iPad Air is going to take on some of the more powerful capabilities of its “brother”, which could align with the rumors about a more powerful iPad Air 3.
We don’t know if this actually means that Apple could scrap one of the two lines and combine them into one, and we certainly hope that this isn’t the case. It would probably not be very beneficial for the company in the long run, and it would take something away from the uniqueness of their offers.
But as we said above, Apple know their audience best and if they think that this would be the best move for them right now, then they probably have a lot of data to back that up. They’ve generally been able to keep their fans favorably minded, and we expect that they can keep doing it with enough effort. They might also have something more special planned for this line that we don’t know about.
