Apple iOS Jailbreak: Users Warned of Fake Tool Targeting iOS 8.4.1!

Apple are moving forward with iOS, and they are reportedly at the last step before the release of iOS 9, and that’s iOS 8.4.1. According to the majority of reports, this is supposed to be the last version that hits the public before the company rolls out iOS 9, although we still don’t know when that will happen or what the new OS will look like. But on the topic of iOS 8.4.1, once the update was released, users immediately started asking for a jailbreak tool, as can be expected.

And while a tool did come out quite fast, some observant users noticed that it was in fact suspiciously fast. Closer examination of the tool revealed the presence of malware, so users should be wary of the Evasi0n tool that is going around right now. The report is coming straight from Apple, and even though it’s known for a fact that the company is firmly against the idea of jailbreaking in general, at least they can be trusted to have reliable information when it comes to protecting their users from malicious tools.

Apple haven’t abused their users’ trust in them before in order to undermine the reputation of a legitimate jailbreak tool, so this warning should most definitely be taken seriously. The situation with the 8.4.1 jailbreak procedure has been somewhat delicate right now, and there have been reports that users shouldn’t even bother updating if they need a jailbroken OS, and instead wait for iOS 9 to come out when there should be a better reason for a jailbreak.

TaiG, one of the most popular names in the jailbreaking scene, have been hard at work as usual, but even they have been reportedly having trouble with the latest iOS releases, and they seem to be waiting for iOS 9 to come out before they release something more major. The team tends to work in secrecy so we don’t know what they might be planning right now, but the latest report from them was that they are already looking at the possibilities for iOS 9 in as much depth as they currently have access to.

As for the Evasi0n iOS 8.4.1 jailbreak tool, reports remain sketchy but users in general are simply advised to stay away from it and not touch the tool. It was originally posted at some legitimate websites because they were apparently fooled by the chain of communication, but in the end the tool was taken down from all of those sources after Apple’s warning came out.

The Evasion team themselves are apparently also working on their own legitimate jailbreak tool, but they aren’t quite ready to release it yet and have advised their fans to just be patient. We don’t know who will end up having the most prominent tool on the market in the end, but it probably also doesn’t matter too much for the users themselves. All people want is to be able to jailbreak their devices easily, how exactly they go about that is a separate story.

Apple iOS 8.3 Jailbreak

There have been some worrying reports that iOS 9 might increase the security of the operating system even further, and make it less susceptible to jailbreaking than it already is. We don’t know if that’s true or not, but it has been a worrying rumor for some fans of the operating system who enjoy the freedom provided by jailbreak tools. After all, even though the procedure does have its risks, it also has many benefits that people generally appreciate.

  1. I can’t see the need to jail break. The phone and tablet I have do everything I need it to do. Besides, people who jail break primarily do it to steal and hack for free apps and in app purchases. Scumbags in general.
